EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Oct 22: Parneesh Mahajan, Convenor, Department of Training J&K BJP, slammed Deepika S Rajawat, Advocate, for her derogatory post on social media during the ongoing sacred days of Navratris. In a statement issued here today, the senior BJP leader condemned the act of a lawyer and said that no one has the right to hurt anyone’s religious sentiments. He criticised Deepika for her alleged attempt to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of Jammu region which seems that she is working on some agenda to ruin Hinduism. He asserted that she made such posts just for her personal motives amid the holy days of Navratris. “It is wrong to associate the festival of any religion with any other event that could cause any damage to century old brotherhood and communal harmony,” Mahajan said while expressing deep anguish against the post on social media by an advocate. Pertinent to mention here that Rajawat posted a derogatory image on her twitter handle, depicting the vaguely one of the Hinduphobic narrative. Mahahjan asserted that the misuse of social media and religious freedom should be dealt under the sections of law and she must be booked under the law for denting the sentiments of a particular community. Mahajan, however, observed that certain elements were endeavouring to weaken the state by exploiting regional and religious sentiments and cautioned the people to remain vigilant against those coming before them in different apparels and employing nefarious tactics. “The best way of isolating such forces would be to strengthen the bonds of amity and brotherhood as per cherished ideals of Bharatiya Janata Party”, he maintained.
