JSSM demands for separate statehood status

Jammu State Students Morcha State Unit today demanded for the separate statehood status for Jammu. JSSM had already submitted a memorandum to
the president of India through Governor.
Addressing the media persons, Sr. Vice President JSSM, Vikrant Singh stated that from last 61 years Jammu region has been discriminated by
the Kashmiri Rulers as they have more numbers of assembly seats.
He also demanded for the equal no of seats and added that more than 90% employees in Secretariat are form Kashmir region. It showed that Jammu has always been discriminated in all sections.
Conveneer of the JSSM, Rakesh Singh appealed to the state administration to concentrate on solving the issue rather than trying to crush the movement which has been transformed into mass agitation.
He also condemned the thrashing of the people by RAF and the firing of teargas shells inside the houses of the innocent people.
