ACB produces charge sheet against head constable

JAMMU, Oct, 26: Anti-Corruption Bureau produced charge sheet against accused public servant Khursheed Ahmed son of Abdul Satar R/o Bhattian, Tehsil Thanamandi District Rajouri then HC posted as I.O. P/S Dharmsal, Rajouri, now posted at DPL Poonch before the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Rajouri in case FIR No.19/2016 registered in P/S VOJ (now ACB) under section 5(1) (d) r/w section 5(2), 4-A of J&K PC Act, Samvat 2006.
The instant case was registered on 11.08.2016 in P/S VOJ (now ACB) on the outcome of verification conducted by the Vigilance Organization (now ACB) into the allegations that public servant namely Khursheed Ahmed, Investigating Officer of Police Station Dharmsal Rajouri demanded and accepted bribe from one Abdul Khaliq, son of Faqir Mohd R/O Kote Kabu, Mohra, Renthal Tehsil Kalakote who was an accused and arrested in case FIR No.110/2013 registered u/s 456/379 RPC of P/S Dharmsal during the year 2013.
During verification it was found that the complainant was residing along with his family in a tented accommodation at Kote Kabu, where he had covered some portion of forest area for keeping his goats and sheep. Khursheed Ahmed, HC of P/S Dharmsal on 04.10.2013 came to the Dera (Temporary Shed) of complainant Abdul Khaliq and took him and his brother Aurangzeb to P/S Dharmsal and kept in preventive custody under section 107/151 Cr.P.C. The accused HC asked Abdul Khaliq to arrange Rs 40,000 for his release and also contacted brother-in-law of complainant for arrangement of money.
The accused demanded and accepted bribe of Rs 27,000 and Rs 32,000 on 08.10.2013 and 15.11.2013, respectively making it total of Rs 59,000 on two occasions for release of complainant Abdul Khaliq. During investigation, statement of complainant and other material witnesses recorded under section 161 Cr.P.C. have established guilt for demand and acceptance of illegal gratification to the tune of Rs 27,000 and Rs 32,000 on 2 different occasions by accused Khursheed Ahmed, HC of Police Station Dharmsal, Rajouri.
After completing the investigation of case, sanction for launching of prosecution of the accused public servant was also obtained from the competent authority and Anti-Corruption Bureau J&K produced charge sheet against the above mentioned accused person before the Anti-Corruption Court Rajouri. The next date of hearing has been fixed for December 18, 2020.
