Jammu, Oct 26: Ashok Kumar, Former MLA from Ramban while interacting with the locals of Ramban has urged upon the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to direct XEN Jal Shakti (earlier PHE), District Administration Ramban and concerned authorities to install five drinking water taps functional (24×7) at Bus stand Ramban and to disperse the financial packages for all the unorganised workers of Ramban district which was announced by central government due the Covid-19 pandemic financial stress. In a statement issued here, he said how can government glorify 'My Town My Pride' when there is not even a single drinking water tap working in bus stand Ramban where more than ten thousand people commute on everyday basis. It is a great injustice for the people of Ramban district and it's peripheral districts.
Ashok strongly demanded to the concerned authorities to immediately restore the hand pumps as they are dysfunctional from the last 2 years. In addition, the financial package should be dispersed to every deserving unorganised workers of Ramban district on war footing as there families have suffered huge financial loss due to prolonged lock down under Covid-19 pandemic.
Ashok further stressed upon the concerned authorities for the extension of Bus Stand Ramban as there is rapid increase in the influx of daily passengers and passengers vehicles. It is creating traffic congestion and menace because of the over crowing of both vehicles and passengers. Moreover, there is dire need of one more passenger shed at bus stand Ramban after the extension of bus stand. He also demanded 24 hours street lights at every corner at bus stand Ramban and rooms for night stay in case of emergencies to far flung people. At last, Ashok stressed upon the director urban local bodies for proper cleaning and sanitation of bus stand Ramban for the welfare of the health of the drivers and daily commuters.
