10/27/2020 12:02:26 AM

Early Times Report

Srinagar, Oct 26: Stressing the need to promote police-public relations and maintain discipline of highest order, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) A K Choudhary on Monday directed the Armed police personnel to remain extra vigilant and wear proper anti-riot and Bullet Proof(BP) gear while performing law and order duty.
Mr Choudhary laid emphasis on the prevailing security scenario and need for exercising extra alertness on the part of police personnel on their respective assignments. He stressed for ensuring round the clock foolproof security of the complex housing the Headquarters of the units and Companys' thereof, besides police family quarters in the premises of the complex.
The ADGP stressed upon the supervisory officers at unit company as well as platoon level to exercise proper control upon the men under their command and ensure that nothing wrong is allowed to go unnoticed. However, he asked them that good work done of the individual should be appreciated.
Choudhary also advised the supervisory officers at all levels to patiently hear the grievances of their subordinates who soever approaches them for redressal of their grievances and take appropriate action on genuine grievances put-forth before them by their subordinates.
Hearing a subordinate patiently by his supervisor is the first solace which a subordinate expects from his supervisor and motivates him to a great extent for better and result oriented performance.
The ADGP also apprised the officers and men about the new policy to be introduced by the government regarding reviewing performance of work of Govt. employees and advised them to work with dedication and sincerity.
Mr Choudhary was speaking at J&K Armed police complex Zewan in the city outskirts Monday.
A police spokesman said the darbar was aimed to hear the problems of jawans and their on-spot redressal by the ADGP besides taking the stock of functioning of the units.
During the darbar the officers and jawans of the units put forth several personal as well as departmental problems mostly pertaining to their welfare. The ADGP patiently listened to the grievances of jawans and officers and assured them that their problems falling within the competency of Armed Police Headquarter (APHQ) shall be examined and accordingly redressed on merit while other issues shall be taken-up with the Police Headquarter (PHQ) on priority for appropriate action. Highlighting the welfare measures being taken by the PHQ for its officers and jawans, the ADGP said the promotion of eligible officers and men commensurate to the vacancies are being made continuously. The ADGP stressed for maintaining social distance, wearing mask and washing hands frequently in order to contain spread of Corona Virus.
