| CVHDC concerned over communal clashes in Kishtwar | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 27
While taking stock of the existing situation prevailing in various parts of the state, especially the Chenab Valley, the All Party Action Committee for Chenab Valley Autonomous Hill Development Council (CVHDC) has expressed deep concern over the unprecedented communal clashes resulting into loss of life and property in Kishtwar. The members at a meeting here today also noted with concern that had the local administration acted promptly and unbiased mind instantly, such ugly incidents would have been averted. The meeting, which was among others attended by Ram Singh Chauhan, Manohar Nath Koul, Mohammed Shafi Sheikh, Hans Raj Kotwal and Kewal Singh Manhas, observed that even in the face of grave provocations during 1947, the people of Kishtwar had not fallen prey to the nefarious designs of anti-national elements and maintained communal harmony. It was a matter of grave concern that the people of the sacred place have now forgotten their cultural heritage and age old values and fallen prey to the communal frenzy, the meeting observed and appealed to the people not to play in the hands of nefarious elements and maintain their age old traditions of communal harmony at all costs. |
