Udhampur and its adjoining areas observed complete shutdown on the 36th consecutive day today. Normal life was thrown out of gear as all shops and business establishment remain closed and there was no vehicular movement on roads . Large number of protesters under the banner of sangrash Samiti took out protest rally in the outskirt Battal Ballian industrial area raising Bam Bam Bole and Bharat Mata Ki Jai slogans .After getting the information that work is going on factories in the area they turned violent and ransacked more than half dozen factories in industrial area . Protesters also smashed window panes of vehicles parked there and fled spot before police reach there . Protesters also deflated tyres of few vehicles on Dhar road. In the routine manner , a rally was taken out in Udhampur town in the evening in which a number of people which include women and children participated demanding early restoration of Amarnath land and transfer of Governor N.N Vohra . Spaeking on the occasion district Convenor Vikram Slathia shown deep concern over the increasing militancy related incidents in the state and demanded stern action to combat it . Condemning the militants attack on Civilian in Jammu today in which innocent civilians were killed he said that enough lesson for government .He demanded that militancy should be dealt with strong policy of catch and kill so that common could leave in peaceful enviournment . He also reiterated Samiti demand of early restoration of Amarnath land and appeal government to avoid dealy tactics over issue in the interest of crores of people and nation . |
