| JKNPP urges Governor to resolve land issue | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 27
Charging the Congress high command for using the administration in the state for its political end, the JKNPP in a meeting here today, said that the former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, despite having been defeated in the Assembly and having no constitutional status to interfere in the administration, is using his Agents in the administration for the promotion of Congress Party and working against the peoples' interest particularly that of Jammu Province. The party at a meeting expressed surprise and anguish that despite over two months long agitation by the people of Jammu and three rounds of talks between Sangarsh Samiti and Governor's Panel, Government has not resolved the matter of land for Amarnathji Shrine. The Party advised the Governor to immediately issue order handing over land to the Shrine Board and not to linger on the issue. The proposals in this regard already submitted by the party chairman Prof. Bhim Singh to the Prime Minister and the Governor, which are acceptable to the people of both the regions, can be the best basis for issuing order by the Governor. The party also called upon the Governor to check civil and Police administration from committing atrocities on people and to take immediate action against the police, and civil officials responsible for creation circumstances in Poonch, Kishtwar and committing atrocities on people of Hiranagar, Samba, Digiana, Jammu city etc. The Party also demanded action against parties and individuals involved in inciting people against Indian Nationalism and national unity. The party strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Jammu in which four innocent people stand killed by the terrorists today. The party while expressing sympathy with the victim families asked the government to provide adequate relief of Rs. 20lakhs to each family. The Party criticized the administration for its failure to check infiltration and prevent the loss of human life. The incidents speak of larger conspiracy of Kashmir based leaders with ISI and anti national forces to defeat the genuine aspiration of Jammu people. Meanwhile, the relay hunger strike launched by JKNPP activists in support of restoration of land to Shrine Board has entered into 24th day. Those who sat on the hungers strike included senior leaders Sardari Lal Dubey, Naresh Kumar Kesar, Soni Pandit, Choudhary Dault Singh, Hans Raj Bhagat, Ram Krishan, Madan Lal Bhagat and Sunko Lambardar. |
