Bandh call given by Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti against the revocation of land allotment order to SASB entered 62nd day in Udhampur and its adjoining areas badly affecting the normal life. All the business establishments remained closed and vehicular traffic off the road. There are no signs of immediate rapprochement between the Samiti and the government as fourth round of talks scheduled for toady was again postponed by the government. Large number of protesters, under the banner of Sangarsh Samiti, took out protest rally in the town raising ‘Bam Bam Bole’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ slogans .They also smashed window panes of few vehicles and also deflated tyres of few vehicles. Late in the evening processions were taken out from Adrash Colony, Ramnagar Chowk and Slathia Chowk, Chabutara Chowk and other parts of city in which large number of men and women participated and expressed their anguish over yesterday’s militant attack at Chinoor and infiltration of militants in Ratnuchak area today. People blamed the separatist and other groups for the same. Protesters raised slogans against Kashmir-centric parties, the Hurriyat, the NC and the PDP, and accused these parties for supporting militant organizations. Speaking on the occasion, district Convenor of the Samiti, Vikram Singh Slathia expressed deep concern over the increasing terrorist activities in Jammu region and held government’s appeasement policies responsible for it. He demanded that stern measures should be taken and army should be given free hand to crush anti- national elements so that national security could not be endangered. He also welcomed arrest of anti national elements like Shabir shah and Dukhtrana Millat chief Asiha Andrabi and demanded arrest of Mehbooba Mufti and others involved in anti- India activities. |
