Police foil Bathindi chalo march
11/7/2020 11:46:16 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Nov 7: Police on Saturday stopped activists of various organizations from marching towards Dr Farooq Abdullah’s Bathindi residence here.
Police teams headed by the SPDO Narwal rushed to the spot, after reports of a march headed by Shiv Sena and other organizations were received.
It’s in place to mention here that Dr Farooq arrived in Jammu on Friday for the first time after the Centre abrogated J&K’s special status and bifurcated it into two union territories.
It is not the first time when Kashmiri leaders have faced heat in Jammu, yesterday Mehbooba Mufti was welcomed at Jammu Airport by leaders of various organizations with black flags in their hands.
The PAGD was formed recently in Kashmir by various political parties and is headed by Dr Farooq Abdullah.
The Jammu leaders are angry over Dr Farooq Abdullah’s statement that J&K’s “special status would be restored with help of China.
“ His statement had come at a time when India Army and Chinese Forces are facing each other along the Line of Actual Control in Eastern Ladakh.
Meanwhile, Mehbooba Mufti in statement after formation of PAGD has said that she would not hoist national flag until J&K’s flag is given back. Mehbooba is also visiting the winter capital for the first time since 5 August 2019, and her 14 month detention under PSA.
Reports stated that scores of activists of different parties had gathered at Bathindi Chowk, opposite to Wave Mall this morning and tried to march towards Dr Abdullah’s residence to register their anger, but Police thwarted their attempt.
Lambasting, Abdullahs and Muftis the agitating Jammu leaders questioned both parties and PAGD ‘gang’ what they did for Jammu. “They did nothing for Jammu farmers, unemployed youth, businessmen, women and other sections of our society in Jammu”, said a leader.
The leader said, “Now we are safe and are getting equal rights.”
