Advisor to Governor C. Phunsog has asked Power Development Department (PDD) and Power Development Corporation (PDC) authorities to ensure adequate power supply during the Holy month of Ramzan in the State. He said steps should also be taken to rationalize curtailment and supply position in all the three regions of the State. The Advisor was reviewing the arrangements of power supply during the ensuing Holy month of Ramzan at a high level meeting of officers of PDD and PDC here today. Phunsog said that Central government would be approached for additional power allocation to the State to cater the requirement during the month of Ramzan. He directed the concerned officers to address the problems of consumers without any delay and keep vigil on the grid and receiving stations adding that on the job training for the purpose should also be imparted to the PDD staff for better functioning of grid and receiving stations. The Managing Director PDC apprised the Advisor about the power generation position in different power stations with regard to dwindling water flow due to onset of winter, power supply and purchase of power from Northern Grid. The meeting, among others, was attended by Commissioner-Secretary PDD, Development Commissioner (Power) and Chief Engineers of Electric Maintenance, Generation, System and Operation, Commercial and Survey wings. |
