JTC, SKF activists' protest enters 38th day

JAMMU, Nov 8: The agitation of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) activists continued as their protest entered 38th day today. A protest dharna was staged at Jagti Township under the chairmanship of JTC and SKF president Shadi Lal Pandita.
Addressing the protesters, Shadi Lal Pandita said we have been protesting for 38 days but the government is not meeting our demands, adding that the government should meet our demands immediately.
He said that through our protest we want to awake the government from deep slumber and pay attention towards the problems of hapless Kashmiri migrants who are leading an exiled life in different parts of their country for the last 32 years now.
Pandita accused Government of not taking effective steps for the return and rehabilitation of displaced people to Valley. He accused BJP of deliberately thwarting the return process of displaced people.
He demanded immediate restoration of land and other property of migrants in Valley besides protection to land of religious places and shrines.
Pandita urges the government to enhance the monthly cash relief of relief holders from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per family per month and also demanded jobs for those houses where there is no any government employee in the family.
Raj Kumar Tickoo unit president JTC Convener Soan Kashmir Front J&K said being outside Kashmir, our loss of life and property is increasing for which the state and central government is responsible and said that our sit-in, agitation and protest rallies will continue till our demands are met
Others who participated in the protest are Kashi Nath Bhat, Ravinder Koul, M L Razdan, Vinod Moza, Kamal Ji Pandita , Vijay Bakshi, Rakesh Ambardar, Shuban Ji Raina, Sunil Bhan, Sager Pandita, S L Kar, Charanjeet Singh, Gurdeep Singh and others.
