NBF T20 2020-21 Friendship Cup: BCC beats Press Club

JAMMU, Nov 8: Tarun Uppal today inaugurated cricket match titled ‘NBF T20 2020-21 Friendship Cup’ at JKCA Ground Science College Jammu.
On the occasion,Vinod Khajuria, District President JKCA and Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Chairman Team Jammu were the Guests of Honour, Mukesh Sharma and Sunal Kakkar was the Special Guest.
A thrilling one-day friendship match was played between Bhatia Cricket Club Bishnah and Press Club Jammu at Science College Ground Jammu which was supported by Nirbhay BharatFoundation. Winning the toss in today's match, the Captain of Bhatia Cricket Club decided to bowl first and invited the Press Club to bat first, in which the team gave the target of 125 runs with 9 wickets in 20 overs. For the team, Dinesh Mahajan faced 31 balls and scored 31 runs with the help of 3 fours. Deepak Khajuria hit 21 off 21 balls, Rupesh Raj 13 and Naveen Kaul scored 17 runs. Vikas took 3 crucial wickets from Bhatia Club. Patel took 1 and Jassi also took 1 wicket. Bhatia Cricket Club hit the target in the 18th over, with Vikas scoring 46 runs, Govind 23 and Vicky 19 runs. Dhruv took 1, Naveen 1 and Shalu took two wickets from Press Club Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Tarun Uppal said that the main aim of organizing this cricket match is to nourish the sports talent and development of team spirit among the youth. He exhorted upon the youth to take part in the other sports activities.
Uppal said that the sports always played an important role in the development of person’s personality as well as working capacity. He said that the sports persons are an asset to the society and the nation, who always contribute to the progress of the nation. Zorawar Singh Zamwal also urged the people of J&K to push their wards for the outdoor activities in order to achieve their wholesome development. He also appreciated Tarun Uppal for their keen interest to promote the event in the State. In the end, the guests greeted the winners and the players of the winning teams by awarding them. Vinod Khajuria assured all support in promoting the sports events and appealed to the youth of J&K to participate in sports activities and contribute towards nation building.
