The 10th edition of Raid de Himalaya, a motor rally organized by the Himalayan Motorsport Association, will start from Himachal Pradesh on October 2, a senior official said Friday. "The 2,050-km rally, co-sponsored by the tourism departments of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, would pass through Manali, Kaza, Keylong and Sarchu towns in Himachal Pradesh and culminate at Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir on October 9," principal secretary of the department of youth services and sports T.G. Negi said. Being India's prominent motor sports annual event, various teams from India and abroad are to participate in the rally that passes through four rugged mountain passes - Kunjum La (15,800 feet), Baralacha La (16,400 feet), Nakee La (16,300 feet) and Lachu Langla (16,600 feet). |
