Jammu is still staying firm on its demand for transfer of land to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board but patience is thinning out. Not that people have lost energy for protests but the official delay is causing visible anxiety. When the fourth round of dialogue, which was expected to be decisive, was delayed twice, the active participants of agitation and even the fringe watchers took it with a pinch of salt. What to say of Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti, even people from various walks of life viewed seriously about the postponement of the fourth round of talks once again here today. While talking to the reporter of this paper, a 58 yr old Kashmiri migrant Prem Nath Koul said, postponement of talks once again shows govt is not sincere in its efforts. He said no doubt Dr. S.S. Baloria has suffered some injury, but the panel consists of four members, can hold talks in his absence, later on they can give him the resume of the talks. Postponement of talks have no solution. Rakesh Gupta, a businessman standing outside his closed step along with other businessmen on one of the busy road said that the, government intentions are not good. Gurdeep Singh a retd teacher said the bandhs and the curfews have affected the students badly. For the last more than two months all education institutions are closed, even the coaching classes are also closed. He urged upon the governor N.N. Vohra take some immediate steps so that no more time of students is wasted. He urged for an immediate solution of the land row. Desraj Verma said the politics played by the politicians in land row are responsible in creating wedge between the people of the two regions. Common people are least bothered of any controvercies, they want, peace and development. Bandhs and curfew in the region have badly affected traders, hotliers, taxiwallas. He said, govt should avoid delay tactics and think of the general public, who are the worst suffers. Talks between Bloeria panel and Sangarsh Samiti should continue and find out an acceptable solution once for all. |
