The Winter Capital City and its adjoining areas are yet to come out of the ‘Chinore shock’ when militants struck with an element of surprise and barged into the house of a hapless family, the fear clouds continue hover over the town as the presence of terror mechanics is being suspected in the outskirts where a massive hunt has been launched.
Following the Chinore massacre on city outskirts in which at least nine people were killed, the search operations in the bordering belts of Jammu region has been intensified while locals today noticed some 'suspects' in the Bari Brahmana area, some 20-kms from here and informed the police, sources said.
''The locals observed suspicious movement and some suspects on the peripheries of Bari Brahmana area,'' sources said asserting, ''police was immediately informed. Acting on a tip-off, security forces cordoned the area and launched the search operation.'' The searches started in the morning at around 1100 hrs and are still in progress till the last reports came in.
The search operation was launched at Ratnu Chak area by the security forces. But after a long search which started from 8.30 AM and ended at 5.30 no militant was found. A woman identified as Bimla Devi wife of an army man Hans Raj was going to other area when she was intercepted by two suspects who demanded food from her. She narrated whole episode to his husband who told to armymen and thus started search operation. The search operation led by police, army and CRPF was supervised by Army Brigade commander besides top officials of Police. After a long search which lasted for about nine hours no militant was traced out. Speaking to media persons a police officer said that right from Ratnu Chack the search was conducted upto Birpur including industrial state but no break through was made.In another incident a search operation was conducted in Sainik Colony area for about six hours by police following the tip off the presence of militants but there too no break through was made.Earlier the police held search in Bandu Rakh area under the jurisdiction of Gangyal police station.The search was started during mid night time following on the tip off the presence of some suspects in the area. The search also went for about six hours and no break through was made.
