Separatists beware of error breeding terror

Error breeds terror. But as far as India is concerned error seems to be imported. Imported not from any foreign country but from its immediate neighbours, Pakistan and China. The result is we find terror in many parts of the country. While the terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir has been exported by Pakistan the one in north east region is from China. Surprisingly both Beijing and Islamabad were for sometime unaware of the ramifications of terror manufacturing industries that have been set up in Pakistan and China.
China realised the mistake when Islamic fundmentalists raised their head in its Zingziang region where in the mid 90's scores of mosques were built where the devotees were imparted training in handling of arms and explosives. Chinese Government ordered crackdown but there was no hue and cry in any part of the world, including in the Islamic countries. Pakistan shut its eyes on what events took place in the Xingjian region because Islamabad banked on monetary, military and diplomatic assistance from Beijing. Pakistan did not want to annoy China when Islamabad had to remain engaged in giving needle pricks to India. And the same Pakistan continues to not only aid militants operating in Jammu and Kashmir but cry loud even if a couple of militants get killed in operations being launched by the Indian security forces.
At times error does not only breed terror but it makes those commiting error subservient to the terrorists. This is what is happening in the Kashmir valley where the separatists act and react on the directions of militants. No doubt separatists are a divided lot the group that has the maximum support of gun toting youths enjoy supremacy over others. This very support has given an edge to Syed Ali Shah Geelan and his colleagues in the camp of hardliners over the moderates. It were the moderates who were keen to forge unity with the hardliners headed by Geelani. Geelani has never been an aspirant for a reapproachment with the moderates,. The land row has brought about reconciliation which may not stand the test of time. These separatists again commit an error by first demanding revocation of the land order and then seeking opening of the Jehlum valley road for trade and the resolution of the Kashmir issue. Till a few months ago Geelani used to be highly critical; of Pakistan in general and Parvez Musharraf in particular as he believed that Musharraf had deviated from Pakistan's established policy on Kashmir by giving weightage to travel and trade. Now he too has been singing in chorous with those demanding reopening of Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road for trade.
As long as the separatists continue to commit one error after the other terror will take firm roots in Kashmir. These separatists will have to accept dictation from the terrorists when they know that terror may not secure resolution of the Kashmir issue.
