Maha rally tomorrow

Even as it is being widely believed that a solution on the ongoing controversy over the Shri Amarnath Shrine land transfer is brightening up, yet another youth today made a bid on his life in what he said “a sacrifice for the cause”.
Meanwhile, the massive public rally of the Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti, which was put off on Wednesday owing to terror strike in the town, has been rescheduled for Sunday. The representatives of the Samiti said that lakhs of people are expected to participate in the rally which will be addressed by leading Hindu religious saints from the country.
A youth identified as Rajesh Singh of Katra was this afternoon shifted to the Government Medical College Hospital here after he consumed some poisonous substance at his home. Rajesh was moved in the GMC hospital in critical condition where his stomach was washed for poison.
Speaking to the EARLY TIMES, Rajesh said that he wanted to end his life as the government was not returning the land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board. “Hindus will continue to offer sacrifice of their life till land is restored to the shrine board”, he said. His condition had returned to stable by the evening though he was still under medical observation.
Earlier in the day, the SAYSS convener Leela Karan Sharma told a press conference that a massive rally is being organized by Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti (SAYSS) on August 31 at Maulana Azad Stadium.
He said that the rally will start at 11 AM sharp will be attended by the lakhs of people all over the Jammu region. Besides this saints, Shankracharya of the various peeths are taking part in the maha rally.
Among others who are going to address the rally are Swami Nritya Gopal Dass, Hans Dass Maharaj, of Haridwar, Mahant Ram Prakash and Saint Gurdeep Giri from Punjab. The release informs that in spite of the bad health, Sadhvi Ritambhara is also accepted to address the rally. Arrangements of food packets among the realistic will be served also.
