New Delhi | Aug 30

The Bharatiya Janata Party is all set to get into election mode with the finalisation of strategy for the forthcoming assembly and Lok Sabha elections being the main focus in the national executive meet next month, party vice president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said on Saturday.
"The national executive of the party, to be held from September 12 to 14 in Bengaluru will start with a pledge for victory in the forthcoming assembly and Lok Sabha elections," Naqvi said in a statement.
Though back-breaking inflation, political corruption, economic issues, internal security and Amarnath issue are on the agenda, the main focus of discussions will be on the forthcoming polls.
Six states -- namely, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Delhi [Images], Jammu and Kashmir and Mizoram -- are slated to go to polls this year.
"A blueprint for ground strategy will also be debated upon," Naqvi said.
In the run-up to the Bengaluru meet, BJP's election committee has called leaders from different states in the first week of September to discuss the candidates' list.
Senior BJP leader and party's prime ministerial candidate L K Advani will address a Vijay Sankalp Yatra rally in Bengaluru on September 13. Advani plans to hold around 100 such rallies across the country.
The three-day meet will be attended by BJP's national executive members, heads of state units, leader of opposition, organisation secretary, chief ministers of National Democratic Alliance and BJP-ruled states, deputy chief ministers and other leaders.
