Is this the end of the 'sangharsh' or is it the beginning?

I would choose to be an optimist by asserting that 'a setback is a setup for a comeback' as pessimism shouldn't be given any room where we are going to talk about what we have achieved recently or what we are set and determined to achieve in the long run. In fact pessimism shouldn't be given room anywhere. Its always the hope and the will which moves the mountains. Its always the hope of a sunrise which makes the darkest nights disappear into their own darkness. We are talking about the commencement of a new era in the history of jammu after 'amaranth sangarsh'.
. An attack on its faith is a biggest setback even for a very tolerant psyche. And this is what jammu people were subjected to. I would like to see this attack on Jammuites as a blessing in disguise. It forced them to introspect their stances and the staled regular thought patterns of having unquestioned accepectance of injustice which had creeped into their psyche to rust it. The psyche which had become used to suffer without uttering a word, accepting unjust disparities as if they did not exist. The psyche which had started to forget its roots and the values associated with them. A psyche which could not relate to the 'dogra pride' as if it had forgotten the very essence of it. 'Dogra pride' was fast becoming a fading robe which very less individuals were taking pride to wear. This traditional robe had started becoming too obsolete even to be preserved.
Setbacks reinstill lives in us and are meant to shake us back from the deep slumbers, providing us an opportunity to take actions to prove our worth by putting ourselves into the deserved places. Setbacks are always designed by the divine forces to make humans realize their worth by making them remember that they are alive, not dead and should strive for what is theirs. We are here to live with self respect and dignity and not just to have an inert existence. The amaranth land issue is a perfect example of this phenomenon. In this case Jammuites faced a major setback which became a seed of a major movement. And the time has come to transform this movement into a process of a comeback. A comeback of their power of questioning injustice and to protest against it. They have already reached the first milestone of this comeback. And now when they have reached it, it's not the time to drown back into the inert existence polishing their laurels. Instead it's the time to go beyond and take this energy to keep the winning rhythm on roll and setting in target some worthy pursuits. Let's not let this hard gained momentum fade away. We have to avail this historic opportunity to converge our strengths in the right direction.
Lets talk about the future which could be so glorious if we choose it to be. Lets talk about jammu which is a proud, developed part of a proud developed India. Why shouldn't we channel our unity and impeccable strength to such a worthy pursuit of being an exemplary place which belongs to the present times and which is not just seen as a remote corner of this nation. It's the parts that make the whole. Only developed parts will make a developed nation. The values, the will, the strength, the unity and the determination displayed by the people of jammu in the last two months inspires me to envision this because this is all what is required to be there. If we look back to the history we'll find that they were no better people than us who have already achieved this. They had issues of all kind, but they were determined to overcome those. Why do we always have to think about trivial issues and get entangled by them. Why not instead think of bigger things and start removing all the obstacles which come in our way. This will result in an automatic cleansing of everything undesired and unwanted. Let's focus on the light and not the darkness.
In our kind of a democratic set up all we have to do is to choose the right representatives for ourselves. And we have a lot which have come into picture as a result of this movement. Let's resolve to shun all the people out of our representation who have failed to meet our expectations. Or who don't have the values to represent us. We want new representatives of our new aspirations. We want leaders who have vision and courage to lead, instead of people who come from the infamous schools of crime, corruption and greed. Our representatives are our own reflections and vice versa. We as people have awakened and the conventional leaders definitely are not the reflections of this awakened Jammu. Let's choose among us the men of integrity, values and strength who become role models for the generations to come. The change always has to come from the smallest unit to change the whole. It will start from the introspection of an each individual. All of us will have to realize this and perform in a very responsible manner. Let's know our rights and duties as well. Lets not take things for granted and hoping others to do our part. Let's start from the simplest right of voting. Lets vote in the right people who work for us and with whom we can work for a well deserved glorious future.
