| Ek Shaam Shaheedon ke Naam organized | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 31
A programme entitled ‘Ek Shaam Shaheedon Ke Naam’ was organized by the medical fraternity of Udhampur military station and saluted the soldiers who guard the frontiers and paid homage to brave Jawans who gave their today in order to keep the Nation’s tomorrow safe. The evening was filed with lyrical description of soldier’s life by Col VP Singh who is a poet of National repute having the honour of being a Class ‘A’ artiste on Doordarshan. All India Radio and other TV Channels. He has presented numerous such programmes paying homage to the Veer Jawans. A similar show was also organized on 28 Aug at Command Hospital for the benefit of the admitted patients and PBOR and families of the hospital. Col VP Singh has had the singular honour of the release of his book of poems titled “Rakthanjali” which was written during the Kargil war, at the hands of the then Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee. Today’s programme was interspersed with patriotic songs sung by the artistes of the medical fraternity of Udhampur military station. This effort at paying a poetical homage to the defenders of our nation received wide appreciation amongst the audience which comprised GOC-in-C (Northern Command) Lt. Gen PC Bhardwaj other officers and Jawans present on the occasion. |
