Congress hail people of Jammu on historic victory

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress has hailed the agreement between Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti and the Governor’s panel of Shri Amarnath land row and termed it as a historical victory of the people of Jammu.
Addressing a joint press conference Cong leaders Ch. Lal Singh, MP, RS Chib, MLC, Arvinder Singh Micky, MLC, former legislators Raman Bhalla, Girdhari Lal, Ch. Gharu Ram, Yogesh Sawhney congratulated the people of Jammu and paid rich tributes to the martyrs of agitation who sacrificed their lives for restoring the pride of Jammu and those injured in the agitation.
Ch. Lal Singh said that people of Jammu demonstrated their will and its secular traditions where Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims and Christians fought on one platform. He said that people including traders, fruit growers, industrialists, farmers, transporters, dailywagers suffered numerous losses yet they stood united for the cause of Jammu and nationalist people. He lashed out at Mehbooba Mufti for her communal speeches and said that she is anti national and should be dealt strictly. She is responsible for the whole crisis.
RS Chib speaking on the occasion said that people of Jammu upheld the century old secular traditions and demonstrated their unity for the cause. He said that people of Jammu have suffered number of discriminatory steps by the successive state and central governments and it was also the failure of those representing Jammu in the cabinet. He said that Central leadership was misinformed about the sentiments of Jammu people and that was why they stepped in and cleared the mist. He said that Peoples Democratic Party was the main hurdle in providing Jammu its due and delimitation commission was not set up due to their opposition.
Chib demanded that AIIMS like institution should be set up separately on the pattern of SKIMS, Soura as an autonomous body.
Raman Bhalla said that people of Jammu cannot be taken for granted and it is high time that Kashmiri leadership understands the genuine grievances and urges of the people of all the regions.
S. Arvinder Singh Micky said that sensing that the ground realities were not being projected at appropriate forum during the agitation, Congressmen took it upon themselves to inform the central leadership of the realities. He said that Congress leaders met Prime Minister, AICC president Sonia Gandhi, Home Minister, Defence Minister and informed them about the sentiments of Jammu people. He said that people of Jammu have shown that non-violence and nationalist forces cannot be brushed aside though it may take some time to register their voice.
Yogesh Sawhny said that Cabinet minister misled Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad resulting into a massive explosion in Jammu region which had its echo all across the nation and world. He said that Congress won’t tolerate such self seeking leaders and would oppose them tooth and nail.
