To assess the availability of essential medicines in the market, Controller, Drugs and Food Control Organization, J&K, Mr. Ashok Gupta conducted extensive tour of Udhampur and Kathua districts. He has surveyed different retail/ wholesale drug sale outlets and held meetings with Medical Superintendents of government hospitals. No shortage of any category of drugs was reported in Jammu, Kathua and Udhampur districts. The medicines have regularly been supplied by Wholesalers from Jammu to other districts. The Controller held meetings with Deputy Commissioners of Kathua and Udhampur and apprised them of the latest position of availability of essential medicines and further requested them to intimate Assistant Controller Drugs at district headquarters whose offices are now establishes at district headquarters for any short supply of essential medicines which could be taken care by the department. During the tour, he instructed the staff to work with dedication and come up to the expectations of the administration and public. |
