BJP responsible for farmers' plight: Bhardwaj
11/30/2020 10:07:14 PM

EArly Times Report

Naugran (Bishnah), Nov 30: Senior Congress leader and member AICC, Mohinder Bhardwaj has said that the farmers throughout the country and particularly those residing in border areas such as Bishnah tehsil, are passing through a bad phase due to total neglect by the Government and failure of the ruling BJP to fulfil its promises held out to them in the form of lofty statements. " Why are the farmers protesting on the roads these days risking their lives? he asked.
Addressing a well-attended public meeting in support of Manohar Lal Mottan Bishnah block candidate of the party for DDC elections, Mr Bhardwaj said that the farmers were already reeling under debt and neglect and top of that the three farm laws brought by the Government without consulting the farmers or their representative bodies has worsened their plight and forced them to protest on the roads. The Congress party under the directions of its president, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi is fully supporting the farmers' cause and in the similar vein will do everything possible to see resolution of their problems in these areas as well.
Bhardwaj asked the people to use the DDC elections as an opportunity to express their anger in a democratic manner against the government as well as the ruling BJP who have mastered nothing but the art of telling lies to hoodwink the public, by defeating the saffron party's candidates. Drawing attention to the Congress' track-record of working for the upliftment of poor, downtrodden, underprivileged in particular and all other sections of the society, he asked people to keep this mind in comparison to the BJP's streak of falsehood, when they go to cast their vote.
" I am fully committed to the overall development of Bishnah- Arnia blocks and will continue to fight for this cause in the time to come," he observed adding: " Victory of Congress candidates in the DDC elections from this area would provide me further strength to unitedly achieve our goals."
