A meeting of senior leaders, District Presidents, Block Presidents and Secretaries of J&K National Conference, Jammu province and prominent workers was held here today at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, under the chairmanship of Ajay Sadhotra, Provincial President to review the post agreement reached between the State Government and Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti situation. The meeting expressed serious concern over the role of the PDP and its nefarious designs which ultimately failed in dividing the state on communal and regional lines. The meeting also cautioned PDP and BJP to shun vote politics by exploiting religion and region. The meeting also ridiculed the dubious role of the Congress during the agitation. It is irony of fate that the National party like Congress got divided on this issue, the meeting said. The meeting expressed its satisfaction over the agreement reached between the Government and the SAYSS and complemented the people of Jammu for maintaining traditional communal harmony and brotherhood and also appreciated the party leaders, rank and file for playing effective and responsible role during the agitation period. The meeting also observed two minutes silence for the eternal peace of the departed souls who laid down their lives during the agitation and demanded payment of ex-gratia relief of Rs. 5.lakhs each to the next of kin of the deceased families besides granting financial assistance to all those injured . The meeting demanded compensation for the daily earners, farmers, vegetable and fruit growers, traders, transporters, hoteliers and other sectors who suffered losses during the turmoil and also demanded rehabilitation of families whose houses were damaged including nomads, as announced by the Union Home Minister during all party meeting at Jammu. The meeting was, among others, attended by S. Harbans Singh, Rattan Lal Gupta, Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Surjeet Singh Slathia, Kr. Rachpal Singh, Ch. Talib Hussain Ram Paul, Jagjeevan Lal, Suram Singh, Bimla Luthra, Devender Singh Rana, Haji Mohd Hussain, Kashmira Singh, Gurdeep Singh Sassan, Jugal Mahajan, Master Noor Hussain Dharamveer Singh Jamwal and K.L. Bhagat. |
