While congratulating the nationalist forces of the state for the extraordinary results of the historic agitation launched by the people of Jammu on Amarnath Shrine land row, the Panun Kashmir Movement (PKM) said that it (agitation) has documented a new chapter in the history of the State and shown the other nationalist forces of India the path of struggle to uphold truth and justice.
The PKM in a statement released here today said that ‘it feels satisfaction that it played its role in the most befitting manner and proved a trustful companion of Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti. The leadership of the Samiti deserves all praise and applause for its excellent stewardship and vision. We also acknowledge and thank all activists and people in general for their relentless efforts to make the struggle reach its logical culmination. We also pay our special and rich tributes to the martyrs of the agitation who laid their lives for all of us’, the statement add.
The PKM said that this agitation has unleashed a movement to achieve what the society has been illegitimately denied by the Central and State governments for the last six decades. The government of India has always been influenced by a biased mind-set inspired by a grand design of Muslim precedence in all walks of life in this State. Since Muslim majoritarianism became a defacto ‘rule of law’ in this state right from 1947, the nationalist communities were treated as second-class citizens in their own State, the statement further said. Kashmiri Pandit community, in this connection, is an example by itself, which has been forced to live a refugee life in its own country. The simmering discontent in the minds of the people over the last six decades added with the impact of the communal decision of revocation of the land order to Amarnath Shrine Board by the government gave birth to the ‘revolt’. This unprecedented revolution by the people has set new standards, which would govern future course of action of the society and the Indian nation, the statement added.
Condemning the statements of those Kashmir centric political and other organizations, expressing negatively on the agreement, the PKM said that ‘they have been engaging themselves in anti-national and anti-humanitarian acts all along and deserve rejection by the people’. This victory of patriotic forces has shown them their position in the polity of the State and the country, the PKM said adding that the Hindu society rejects any subjugation to the servitude of these communal forces that are hell bent upon to destroy the basic character of our nation and the State.
Declaring to resume its organizational agenda and the activities, the PKM has decided to conduct an extra ordinary meeting of its Executive Council on September, 7 here to finalize its next course of action.
