| Counting of votes of LAHDC Kargil on Sept 5 | | Highest turnout recorded so far: Nehru | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | Sep 2
the just concluded elections of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil have witnessed highest ever polling percentage of 79.47. This was informed by the Deputy Commissioner, Kargil Satish Nehru who was the Election authority for conducting elections of the LAHDC Kargil, at a meeting of Returning Officers held at Kargil today. Nehru informed that the highest ever turn out of 91.75 percent was recorded at Pashkum constituency while the lowest turnout of 67.95 was recorded in Thasgam-Thuina constituencies. Giving details of turnout in various constituencies, the Deputy Commissioner informed that 90 percent polling was recorded in two constituencies, 80 to 90 percent in 9 constituencies, 70 to 80 percent in 11 constituencies and 65 to 70 in two constituencies. The meeting was informed that counting of votes will take place on September 05, 2008 from 9 a.m. at counting centre at District Institute of Education and Trainings (DIET) Kargil where a media centre is also being established for the convenience of the pressmen. |
