CSC Vihaan observes World AIDS day

JAMMU, Dec 5: Community Support Centre (CSC) Vihaan observed World AIDS Day by organizing a programme here today at Bakshi Nagar. The event started with welcome address by Arushi Jamwal, Project coordinator, CSC Vihaan Jammu and Diksha, Acct CSC Vihaan. Dr Radhika Goswami, GIPA Coordinator, JKSACS and Dr Ramneek Singh, State HIV/TB Coordinator were the guests of honour. The speakers highlighted the importance of World AIDS Day observed worldwide and elaborated the theme of "Global Solidarity, Share Responsibility".
Dr Ramneek Singh, State HIV/TB coordinator, aware our PLHIV patients regarding TB- HIV Co-infection, signs and symptoms and prevention modes of TB. Then Ashwani Kumar motivated other clients by highlighting the problems faced by PLHIV and also talks about benefits PLHIV getting from the JKSACS, ARTC and CSC Vihaan.
Tamoor Ali, PO Svetana then talked about the importance of regular ANC check-ups for tracking baby's growth in mother's womb, provide opportunities for improving mother's health and establish contact with providers at facility for delivery. Arushi Jamwal also create awareness among the PLHIV &CHLIV on the importance of using sanitizers, wearing masks and maintaining physical distance to protect oneself from coronavirus. Total 33 participants from PLHIV community including children affected and infected with HIV/TB were present. A painting competition for the children affected and infected with HIV was also organized on the occasion. Total 12 children participated in the competition and all were appreciated and encourage.
