Div Com Jammu discusses measures for revival of agriculture activities on zero line

JAMMU, Dec 5: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today discussed the measures for revival of agriculture activities on the land on zero line along the international border, here at a meeting with DCs of border districts and concerned Officers. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sushma Chauhan, Director Agriculture, Inderjeet, Additional Commissioner Jammu, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Assistant Commissioner Central, Custodian Jammu and other concerned officers while Deputy Commissioner Samba attended the meeting through video conferencing. At the outset, the Divisional Commissioner enquired from the Deputy Commissioners about the cultivated and uncultivated land available in the districts. The concerned Deputy Commissioners apprised him of total land including cultivated, uncultivated, private and state land. The Divisional Commissioner asked the DCs to encourage farmers for cultivating land at zero line across the border fencing. Threadbare discussions were held on various issues including development of land/ to make it cultivable, provision of Crop insurance cover, irrigation facilities and other important issues.
