A 4-day old infant died under mysterious circumstances today at district hospital Udhampur when a nurse undergoing training administered an injection.
Shocked at the sudden demise, of infant, father Sunil Kumar and his wife Arti and other family members and relatives of child protested against the negligence of the Doctors and nurse and demanded stern action against erring nurse and doctors attending the child. Meanwhile, the hospital Superintendent has ordered an inquiry and has assured action with in two days against erring employee.
According to the father of the deceased infant, his wife gave birth to a male baby on September, 1 in a local Nursing home. He added that child was referred to district hospital as he suffered with breathing problem the next day. He alleged that due to negligence of Doctor and nurse child breathed his lost today as one of the trainee nurses administered an injection to the baby on the direction of head nurse, who was taking rest in her room and did not care for baby despite requests, he added.
When hospital Superintendent was contacted he said that since the parents have alleged negligent death of child, he has ordered probe into it to unravel the truth. He added that he has also brought this incident into the notice of the Director Health Services. He said he has sought two days time to bring the truth to fore and assured stern action against the guilty. |
