PARYAS, a local NGO, has hailed the amicable resolution of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) land row, between the Government and the Sangarsh Samiti. Terming it the victory of Jammuties and victory of truth, NGO president Satish Verma has said that the process of dialogue and consensus has ultimately helped to resolve the contentious issue in accordance with the religious aspirations of the people and in keeping with the larger interest of the State, its unity, integrity and the traditional harmony. He also termed the agreement as a big success of the nationalist forces adding that ‘it was the battle of nationalist people versus the forces of oppression and suppression’. This struggle would go into the annals of the history’, he said adding that many more such are still ahead to gain what the Jammu region has last during the past d61 years. He also said that the agitation has established that the people of Jammu can achieve their objectives by unity and maintaining communal harmony. Verma also appealed to the responsible members of society of Jammu to constitute a common broad based forum consisting all segments of the society and representing all regions of Jammu so as to chalk out a comprehensive action plan for empowering Jammu and for bringing an end to the discrimination meted out with Jammu region on all fronts. |
