| President evinces great interest in Kashmir flora | | | NEW DELHI, SEPTEMBER 08 – President Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam has evinced great interest in the vast floral varieties of Kashmir and stressed for its proper exploitation for economic activities in the valley.
President today inaugurated International Flora Expo 2006 at Pragati Maidan New Delhi. The expo is being attended by various foreign companies besides indigenous ones. The state of Jammu and Kashmir is being represented by the Department of Agriculture, Kashmir. Numerous exhibits of various flower, aromatic oils, floral seeds dry flower, garden tools, plants and materials of various utilities found attracting huge crowds.
The president visited Jammu and Kashmir stall and evinced keen interest in the exhibits. The President was apprised of various commercial floriculture ventures of the state and the potential of floriculture in earning foreign exchange and opening new vistas of employment generation in the state. |
