A new political party “Jammu and Kashmir Awami Congress” was launched by a senior political and trade union leader Satpal Sharma here today.
Addressing a press conference Satpal Sharma said the launching of new party arise as the state lacked a true political leadership which be said, is evident from the fact that all the political parties were rejected by the people during the land row.
Sharma said that object of the party is the well being and advancement of the people of whole of J&K state by peaceful and constitutional means, based on parliament democracy in which there is equality of opportunity and of political, economic, and social right and which aims at world peace a fellowship.
He said people are fed up with traditional leaders who only pay lip service to the people for their petty self interest throwing the state into regional and communal violence while justifying the name of the party he said that it was the party of the common man, (the awam) and common man would identify himself with the party and its ideals. |
