| Manhas bereaved, Academy staff mourns death | | | Early Times Reporter

Renowned social reformer Bashir Ahmed Khan, father of Zaffar Iqbal Khan Manhas, Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages passed away at his home town Shopian last night, family sources said.
He was 80 and is survived by his six sons and four daughters.
Bashir Khan was suffering from acute health problems.
Thousands of people from different walks of life attended his Nimaz-e-Jinaza at Shahdab Kerwa Shopian.
The Staff members of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages have expressed deep shock over the sad demise of Haji Bashir Ahmed Khan at a condolence meeting held under chairmanship of Additional Secretary Shameema Akhter and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the family members to bear this irreparable loss. |
