| Mir cautions politicians against fomenting regional and communal divide | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 5
President of the Jammu Kashmir Democratic Party, Ghulam Hassan Mir, has urged politicians not to incite communal and regional divide in the state. Expressing deep concern over the recent events in Jammu and Kashmir which led to communal and regional divide, he said that such developments were against the traditions of the state. Mir said Jammu and Kashmir was a strategic and sensitive state where there should be no room given to those forces that fomented regional and communal divide. He said political leaders had made attempts in the past to promote regional and communal tension but people in the valley and the Jammu region refused to support such forces. In reply to a question he said that there were number of political leaders responsible for fomenting regional and communal divide. He, however, did not name these political leaders saying that those who have done it will understand "what I am saying”. Mir wanted people in the Jammu region and in the valley to reject such leaders so that the traditional amity and brotherhood returns to the state. |
