Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has demanded holding of Assembly Elections in J&K after delimitation of constituencies to give adequate representation to all areas in the legislature. Addressing state working committee meeting of party sate NCP Chief Thakur Randhir Singh said that an ordinance should be issued ny the Governor immediately so that the Lok Sabha seats in each region of the state are determined as per its area, population, topography and other parameters to address the long pending demands and genuine urges and aspirations of the people of all areas. This, he , said, will do discriminations needed out to any in political empowerment or other spheres of socioeconomic development. Singh said that without delimitation of Assembly constituencies the holding of elections will not put as end to the inter regional tensions on sccount of allegations and counter allegations of discriminations as evident in the recent agitation over Shri Amarnath Land row. He said the political wisdom demands that instead of putting such vital issued under the carpet, these needs to be addressed with courage and conviction without any delay. Prominent among those who attend the state working committee meeting were Ashok Jain, Sham Singh, Sham Gorkha, Mohinder SinghThakur Gen, Raman Malhotra, Dr. Manohar Lal Rao, V.K Atri, Prof. PD Shastri, Rattan Lal, Col Amar Singh and Capt Allah Rakha. |
