| Assembly polls sans delimitation meaningless: Panthers Party | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 6
Setting agenda ahead of all party meeting called by Election commission on September 8 former education Minister and senior Panthers party leader Harsh Dev Singh on Saturday said that the assembly polls sans delimitation exercise would be meaningless in Jammu and Kashmir. Talking to media persons ahead of his visit to New Delhi to participate in the meeting senior panthers party leader said Panthers party would raise the issue of delimitation of assembly constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir to reverse the clock. We are going to raise the issue of delimitation forcefully, Singh made it clear when asked repeatedly.He said elections would meaningless for people of Jammu region if delimitation commission was not constituted.He said it is the main cause of discrimination with the people of Jammu region. On the other hand Provincial chief of the National conference party Ajay Sadhotra on Saturday said that their party chief Omar Abdullah and party patron are expected to attend the meeting with the election commission adding that the timing of the elections would be determined by the commission on the basis of their interactions with the political parties and assessment of the ground situation across the state. Meanwhile, common residents in the state are also eagerly awaiting outcome of the meeting with the election commission as the same would determine the timing of the elections in the state. |
