Security forces guarding the border in the Jammu,Poonch and Rajouri sectors have been asked to carry out intensive patrolling following reports that fresh attempts were being made by militants, camping across the LOC and the IB,to infiltrate into the Indian territory. Field reports revealed that during the two-month long turmoil on the land row in Jammu groups of militants had succeded in sneaking in the Jammu region. These reports said that soon after infiltrating into Jammu these groups of militants have travelled to different areas in Udhampur and Doda districts. Some of them had carved out safe sanctuaries in Poonch and Rajouri belts. According to these reports,Pakistani agencies have engaged a number of professional guides for assisting militants to cross the border from new routes. The infiltrators and the guides have been provided with special kit for snapping the barbed wire fence and for trekking the mountain routes in Poonch and Rajouri in the dark to escape detection by the Indian security forces. It is in this connection that the troops were installing additional gadgets, including censors,on the border for monitoring the movement of militants. Emphasis on installing censors was being given after these gadgets helped the Indian security forces in foiling number of infiltration bids. |
