| MF members call on Gandhi Peace Mission delegation | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 6
Members of Jammu Muslim Front today called on a delegation of Gandhi Peace Mission, which is currently on a tour to Jammu and Kashmir. The Front, comprising its chief patron Zahoor-ud-Din, Patron Abdul Gani Kohli, Ashiq Hussain Khan General Secretary and Abdul Gani Teli senior vice president, held a detailed discussion with the delegates of Gandhi Peace Mission and apprised them about the problems being faced by the Muslims in Jammu and its surrounding areas. The delegation was appraised of the growing sense of insecurity among the minority community in the region, which has recently led to migration of some families from the outskirts of the city. The Front further expressed displeasure over the way government authorities reacted at the crucial juncture so as to secure the lives and property of Muslims across the region. The members claimed that the Gujjar families were left at the mercy of God in the outskirts of Jammu and Samba districts and police desperately failed to secure their lives. Shock and agony was also expressed over the loss of property including more than 70 kullas of Gujjar families in the outskirts of the city. |
