"Angels'" of Jammu deserve much more than "Ladoos"

No doubt the leaders of Jammu have proved ineffective to bring justice to the people of this province solely because of their narrow personal objectives, yet the people of this region have put up with immense degree of discrimination at the hands of Kashmir based leadership right from 1947 and deserve much more than the word of praise for the settlement of things.
Merely calling them 'angels' would not fit the case as the degree of discrimination has been so high during last sixty three years that even a naked eye can assess the fact of the matter. It is perhaps the wider outlook of the people of Jammu that is misconceived for political immateriality both by the center and Kashmir based leadership but the hard truth is that no society can be suppressed for such a long time for nothing.
The mockery of the things begins with the inequitable political representation for the people of Jammu. Courtesy National Conference, taking full advantage of two third majorities and passed legislation in state Legislative Assembly deferring implementation of delimitation commission till 2026.
All the hue and cry was raised in Assembly when during the last budget session of Assembly, Panthers party leader Harsh Dev Singh asked for discussion on the issue on the floor of the house. Cutting across the party lines, Kashmir based leaders including the ruling Congress decried the move.
There is no match when we compare the two provinces of state on development basis. There is vast area in Jammu province where electricity is still a reverie and water is luxury. Vast area of this province is yet to be connected with roads despite the tall claims of equitable development of all three regions.
The expression ' Angels' was used by former Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad for the people of Jammu during last year when there was immense dearth of potable water in Jammu city for more than a month but the same Chief Minister under the influence of his Kashmiri colleagues created as much districts in Kashmir valley as in Jammu while implementing Wazir Commission recommendations. The height of the appeasement policy can be assessed by the fact that if the same pattern as used in Kashmir is used in Jammu for creating districts, at least ten more districts can easily be created in Jammu.
It is really a mockery of all the sorts that to please the Kashmiris, Wazir Commission was not implemented in original. If we see the distance from district headquarter Anantnag and Kulgam, it is only fifteen kilometers and again the distance between Kulgam and Shopian is same. The distance between Srinagar-Ganderbal- Badgam is not hidden to any body.
The Jammu people have so far stood with all the disparities during all the sixty years but their long endurance has yielded nothing except miseries for them. The congress party which has ruled for the country for more than half a century has the ability to do so but unfortunately the Jammu, being the main bastion for congress since independence, the Chief of the party has always been a Kashmir based, giving a clear impression of Kashmir centric policies of the higher ups of the party.
There is a strong urge to address the demands of the people of Jammu as enough water has flown in the river Tawi from last sixty years. The articulation of rhetoric is by no way enough for the people who have sacrificed a lot for the interest of the nation.
