The eloquent General Secretary of BJP and the party’s incharge of Jammu and Kashmir affairs, Arun Jaitly has strongly favoured holding assembly elections in time even as he claimed that his party will make Jammu as center of political power. Jaitly was in the town to gauge party’s mood and preparations for assembly polls just a day ahead of scheduled meeting with the Election Commission of India to discuss the issue. ‘Elections within the stipulated timed be held in the state’ and delay will mean succumbing to separatists, Jaitely told a crowded press conference here this morning. Jaitley said, BJP is ready to face people’s mandate and as such will put suggestion before tomorrow’s meeting with election commission of India at New Delhi. He on the occasion appealed to all mainstream politicians and parties to support early elections in the state, so that people form their own government which is the main and important point in the democratic setup. Coming on delimitation of assemblies in the state, he said, delimitation is very important and must under constitution, but not at the cost of elections. He said BJP favour delimitation in the state which will put end to discrimination, but polls should be held in time. While congratulating people of Jammu an leaders of the Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti for taking the historic agitation to its logical end, said Jammu has displayed unity and raise collective voice against the discrimination, and as such created history through peaceful manner. He said Congress and some state level parties are attempting to put off polls not only in Jammu, Kashmir but in other state where elections are due this year. He also condemns the statements of separatists and so called leaders of mainstream parties of the state who advocate. Separatists agenda and also lashed out at UPA government for bowing before separatists, besides being soft on terrorism. He said state is coming fast on rails and normalcy is seem everywhere after recent agitation. The recent fight was against separatists by the Nationalist; he said and added the recent statement of Barak Obama on Pakistan’s intention towards India should be taken seriously by the centre government. He also criticized RJD, Samajwadi Party and Lok Janshakti Party in supporting SIMI, who perpetrate secessionism in the country, beside demanded citizenship of Bangladeshis. |
