| J&K police to launch drive against drug trade in Doda | | |
Jammu, Sep 8 The Jammu and Kashmir police today decided to launch a special drive to curb the menace of drug abuse in Doda district, official sources said.
The decision was taken in a meeting of Anti-Narcotics Task Force committee which held here under the chairmanship of SSP Doda district Monohar Singh.
The main focus of the meeting was to discuss the various measures needed to curb the menace of drug abuse in the district.
They further decided to launch an awareness drive in order to educate the youths about the fatal consequences of drug usage and said various NGO's of the area would be involved in this effort.
The members also appreciated the efforts of Doda police during the meeting and said the police has contributed immensely towards this problem in the recent past by nabbing a number of drug traders.
The meeting was attended by a host of senior officials from Doda district which include District Information Officer, Deputy SP (CID), representatives of Chief Agriculture Officer and Divisional Forest Officer and number of police officers from the district headquarters.
