J&K National Conference, Jammu province observed the 26th Death Anniversary of Sher-e- Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah today at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, Jammu in which, besides senior party leaders, party rank and file in huge "Sadhbhawana Rallies" thronged party headquarters to pay homage to the late veteran leader.
Addressing the largely attended rally, S. Harbans Singh Party’s Sr. Vice President, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, emphasized the need of following the foot steps of Sher-e-Kashmir in order to serve the people in a better way and called upon the party workers to propagate the slogan of "Sher-e-Kashmir Ka Kya Irshad Hindu Muslim Sikh Ithad" in order to inculcate sprit of oneness, which is the need of the hour today. He said the political parties and the politicians have to play a responsible role and the traditional bonds of brotherhood in Jammu & Kashmir have to be maintained at all costs and all people must contribute to ensure that Jammu & Kashmir with all its religions, cultural, ethnic and linguistic diversities stays together in harmony. Paying tributes to late leader, he said Sheikh Abdullah had always given priority to the up liftment of poor and downtrodden lot of the society and took historical measures to bring equality in the society. Land to the tiller and abolition of landlordism from the society were revolutionary steps for bringing equality. Rattan Lal Gupta, Sr. Vice President in his address emphasized the need to strengthen the secular fiber of the state for which late Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah fought for more than half century during his life time. Paying floral tributes to Sher-e-Kashmir, senior National Conference leaders Surjeet Singh Slathia, former Minister, Ch. Talib Hussain, ex-MP, Mriza Abdul Rashid, Ram Paul,ex-MLC, Devender Singh Rana, MLC, Tarlochan Singh Wazir, MLC, Ch. Bashir Ahmed Naz, MLC spoke at length and highlighted the services of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah. On the occasion huge "Sadhbhawana Rallies" were organized by Chander Mohan Sharma, District President Jammu Urban, Bimla Luthra, Provincial President Women Wing, Vinod Bhalla, Abdul Gani Tali and S.N. Manyal, which passed from various main bazaars of the city and culminated at party headquarters Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, Jammu. Lunch was also served to all the participants, which was organized by the Youth National Conference, Jammu province. Among others who spoke on the occasion included Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Brij Mohan Sharma, Bimla Luthra, Begum Zubaida Salaria, Chander Mohan Sharma, Satpal Lakhotra, Mahinder Gupta, Mohd. Ayub Malik, Surinder Singh Bunty, Gurdeep Singh Sassan, Jugal Mahajan, Shyam Mehra, Vinod Bhalla, Vijay Lochan, Pardeep Bali, Master Noor Hussain, Rajesh Bakshi, S.N. Manyal, Balwinder Singh, Rachpal Singh, Mirza Ashraf, Abdul Gani Tali, Arshad Chowdhary and Dharamveer Singh Jamwal. Similar reports about observance of death anniversary of the founder of National Conference have been received from several other parts of Jammu region including Poonch, Rajouri, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Kathua, Udhampur Gulabgarh-Reasi where rank and file of the party paid homage to late Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah and recalled the services rendered by him for welfare of the state. |
