| Residents of Puran Nagar stage protest against JMC for blocked nallah | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 27: The residents of Puran Nagar area in Ward No 31 staged protest demonstration against the poor functioning of JMC as the nallah passing from Vikaas Lane to Puran Nagar got completely blocked & the dirty water is overflowing resulting causing lot of inconvenience to the locals residing in this area due to unhygienic conditions .
The local residents showed lot of resentment towards the casual approach being adopted by the JMC authorities. Durring the protest , district vice President congress sh.som Raj also blamed that despite repeated requests & phone calls made to CTO JMC ,no action was taken on ground for cleaning of the said nallah & the concerned officer only made false promises on phone by saying that I have noted your complaint & will take up shortly but never took action for desilting of nalllah passing through Puran Nagar. The locals of the area also alleged that the desilting of the saaid nalllah has not been taken up for last four months & as a result this nallah is full with silt & garbage & has become a health hazard for the general public in view of prevailing Covid 19 pandemic situation and thereby posing serious threat to the local residents. While speaking on the occasion ,sh.som Raj also appealed to JMC Commissioner to intervene & direct the CTO to immediately take up the said nallah for cleaning and deploy both men & machinary or else we have to come on roads to further intensify our agitation. |
