Independent Jasvir’s election as DDC member will be turning point in politics: Team Jammu chairman
12/27/2020 11:55:18 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 27: Expressing gratitude towards residents of the hilly Pancheri-Mongri hamlet for electing a youth leader Jasvir Singh as member of the District Development Council, Chairman Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal on Sunday said that his election would encourage more and more youth to join politics and contribute in nation building.
“Mr Jasvir’s election as DDC member of Pancheri-Mongri Council will be turning point in the politics of Jammu and Kashmir particularly Jammu region,” said Mr Jamwal while addressing a victory rally in Pancheri tehsil of Udhampur district. He said, “residents of Pancheri-Mongri have set an example for the whole J&K by electing the youngest DDC member who is committed to serve the people with dedication.”
“Mr Singh’s election is going to be a milestone in the future politics of J&K in general and Jammu region in particular as people of this hilly belt have created a history by rejecting traditional political parties and elected him, who has emerged victorious as Independent candidate,” highlighted the Chairman.
Mr Jamwal further said that this young and independent candidate, who is also a recipient of President of India Medal as NSS volunteer, has won election with the support of the people who were earlier fed by the false promises of the successive elected representatives. As far as resources were concerned, Jasvir Singh could not compete with main stream parties who had pumped huge money but it was peoples’ love and affection that Singh emerged victorious. “Mr Jasvir Singh’s election has set a precedent that peoples’ faith is more important than resources”, he said. Chairman of the Team Jammu regretted Pancheri-Mongri has huge potential to be developed as a famous tourist destination but successive regions have ignored this belt due to reasons best known to them.
Pointing towards non availability of basic infrastructure in this belt, Team Jammu chief said that deplorable conditions of the roads is an indication of a discriminatory policy being adopted by the ruling elites in the development of this region.
In his addressing, newly elected DDC member, Jasvir Singh thanked the gathering for their overwhelming support that led to his grand victory.
He said that he would leave no stone unturned till Pancheri-Mongri DDC gets its due share in development, be it upgrading education and health care infrastructure or developing scenic tourist spots of that area.
“There will be no place for corrupt practices and everyone would be made accountable. Equitable development of all the Panchayats of Pancheri-Mongri, DDC, would be my sole target, in this new era,” vowed young DDC member.
