| Leh CEO meets Gill | | | Early Times Reporter

The Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Chering Dorje called on the union youth affairs and minister, Dr MS Gill and discussed various issues with relate to youth affairs and sports in Ladakh. These issues includes construction of sports complex in Leh, establishment of high altitude training centre of national institute of sports youth hostel and grant of aid for purchase of sports equipments and promotion of Polo in Ladakh.
Gill after hearing announced Rs 5.00 lacs for promotion of Polo and Ice Hockey. The minister assured that sports ministry would declare holding of annual polo tournament and Ice Hockey tournament in Leh by providing regular funds and central. He assured that the sports ministry will provide adequate Ice Hockey equipments for Leh. He suggested that the water reservoirs available in all villages can be converted in to Mini Ice Hockey Rink and for rural youths.
The deputy Commissioner, A K Sahu said that having a youth hostel in Leh assumers very important to provide accommodation to the sports teams who come to Leh for participation in various events. He said that land for Youth hostel is available. Sahu also about the proposed Archery training camp to be held at Leh from 16th of this month. |
