| Katra being beautified | | | Early Times Reporter Katra | Sep 8
District Development Commissioner, Reasi, Mr. Sanjeev Verma visited Katra today to review the development works being executed there for beautification of the holy town. Executive Officer, Municipal Committee, Katra, Mr. Ravi Sharma apprised the District Development Commissioner that an amount of Rs.10 lakh is being spent for beautification of Katra town. He further disclosed that 48 sodium lights will be installed in the town and 2 mobile toilet vans having capacity of 6 seats each are also being arranged for the town for the convenience of visiting pilgrims, besides installing 5 mask lights on different location in and around the town. The DDC alongwith SDM Katra, Mr. Ram Rattan Sharma, Rtd. Chief Town Planner Jammu Mr. Vinod Kumar Malhotra and engineers of different departments visited Banganga road, Bus Stand area, Circular road, Dak banglow road and Devi Parks of the town. He asked the engineers to complete all the development works under construction in the prescribed time. He stressed that effective drainage system should be created in view of the importance of town which is the base camp for the pilgrimage of Mata Vaishno Devi. To remodel the existing Bus-stand, the DDC asked the Municipal Committee, Katra to take guidance from Rtd Chief Town Planner for proper planning of this area. |
