The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is building a comprehensive vision for India @75 and will undertake an ‘inspirational role’ and facilitate India’s transformation to a global leader by 2022. This vision has been developed by Prof C K Prahalad and Paul Ruth McCracken distinguished Professor of Michigan. This was stated by Sanjay Puri, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Council while interacting with media persons here today. He said CII is setting up a Mission on India @ 75 with the theme for the current year ‘The emerging India’. In view of the recent crisis in the state it is imperative that the communities and leadership is able to understand and define its aspiration, he said adding it will help in chanelising the energy in direct direction. To carry forward the mission, Puri said the Jammu and Kashmir State Council would focus on mapping the present position of all the regions of the state with respect to various indicators- economic, social and human development, infrastructure and fiscal indicators, understand the factor endowments of the state and the key issues faced by the people of the state and developing long term ‘overall vision’ documents keeping in view the aspirations of all regions of the state, Puri added. He said CII during its visioning exercise would incorporate the views of political leadership, beauraucracy, industry, institutions and academicians to make it broad based and all encompassing. Urging one and all to contribute to this visioning exercise, Puri informed that CII has constituted a task force wherein people from all walks of life could register to make the state’s vision a truly representative of its people. |
