| Manjit inaugurates Shaheed Harnam Singh Marg at Khour Salarian in Vijaypur block | | | JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 10 Minister of State for Education and Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution S. Manjit Singh today inaugurated one kilometer long Shaheed Harnam Singh link road at Khour Salarian in Vijaypur block about 40 kilometer from here. The link road has been constructed by Rural Development Department at a cost of Rs. 4.75 lakh under Border Area Development Programme. Addressing the gathering at Khour Salarian, the Minister said that on the opening of this link road about 10,000 populations would be benefited. He said that the present government is making concerted efforts to connect every nook and corner of the border belt areas with city roads. He asked the Rural Development Department Engineers to complete ongoing development works in double shifts for the benefit of general masses. Responding to the demands of villagers, the Minister announced Rs. 5 lakh under Constituency Development Fund for the construction of play ground in Khour Salarian. He directed the engineers to immediate start the construction work of play ground and additional two rooms at Govt. Middle School and to complete both the works within stipulated time frame for the benefit of people. For Primary Health Centre, Nandpur, he announced two mobile ambulances. He revealed that one ambulance will be available at PHC and another will remain available at roadside with all Medicare facilities for the convenience of ailing people. He issued instructions to para-medical staff to attend their duties with proper zeal and zest and remain present in PHC also in odd hours for the convenience of patients. Earlier, the Minister paid rich tributes to Martyr Harnam Singh who sacrificed his life for nation in the year 1971 at Chamb border. Chairman Municipal Committee Vijaypur Mr. Niki Mahajan, Sarpanchs, Panchs and senior officers of RDD, education, power, irrigation and flood control were present on the occasion. |
