| Three LeT militants killed in Jammu | | | Jammu, Sept 10 :
Security forces have gunned down three Lashker-e-Toiba militants in separate encounters in Jammu division, police sources said here today.
Police and army troops shot dead a foreign militant of LeT outfit at Mathori in Doda district last night, they said, adding the slain militant has been identified as Abu Khalid of Sialkote area of Pakistan.
One ak rifle with three magazines and five rounds were recovered from the slain militant, the sources said.
In Poonch district, Special Operation Group of police and Rashtriya Rifle troops launched a search operation in Kasblari area of Mendhar tehsil yesterday.
During the search, militants fired at security forces and in the ensuing encounter two militants were killed. One of the slain militant has been identified as Saiful Rehman of let. The identity of his associate is being ascertained.
Recoveries from the site of the encounter yielded two ak-56 rifles with its six magazines and 36 rounds, one pistol, one radio set and two pouches, the sources said. |
